He was introducing our newest addition to our bear loop, Takelma! He is a year-old grizzly bear that just recently passed his quarantine period and has now been out on display for the past week with his new best friend, Teddy! Unfortunately, Takelma was found orphaned in the Alaskan wilderness and had recently been fed by locals. What may seem like a harmless act of goodwill to feed a wild bear can often lead to dangerous situations that can put your life and the bear’s life at risk. Fortunately,  local wildlife officials secured Takelma and then transported him here to Winston, where he will live out his years wrestling and running with his new best friend.
