Overview

Situated within the City of Arts and Sciences complex in Valencia, Spain, Oceanogràfic Valencia is the largest aquarium in Europe and one of the most renowned globally. Designed by the architect Félix Candela, the aquarium showcases the world's main marine ecosystems. Its design and architecture are striking, with each building corresponding to an aquatic environment, varying from the Mediterranean habitats to the polar regions, islands, tropical seas, temperate zones, and the Red Sea.

Guests at the Oceanogràfic can embark on a journey across the planet's main seas and oceans. One of the most impressive sections is the underwater restaurant, which provides diners with a 360-degree view of an indoor ocean filled with sharks and other fish. The Dolphinarium, with its 24 million liters of water and a depth of 10.5 meters, stands as one of the largest in the world and offers breathtaking dolphin shows. During their visit, guests can engage with educational exhibits and interactive displays and observe over 45,000 individual animals.

Oceanogràfic Valencia places significant emphasis on research, education, and conservation. Through collaborations with universities and other institutions, they participate in numerous marine biology and oceanography research projects. The facility also offers various educational programs to raise awareness about the importance of marine conservation, foster respect for marine biodiversity, and emphasize the sustainable use of aquatic environments.
