Something BIG has come to the L.A. Zoo! Introducing Marshall, a four-year-old male greater one-horned rhinoceros. 🦏 Marshall arrived Saturday, Sept. 9, from Omaha’s Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium. He has spent the last month in quarantine, a requirement for all new animals. He helps veterinarians and animal care staff monitor his behavior and health to ensure he is acclimated to his new habitat. We are happy to report that he is settling in nicely. Marshall’s arrival in Los Angeles is truly a moment of pride for our City,” said Denise Verret, CEO & Zoo Director, Los Angeles Zoo. “The L.A. Zoo has a long history in providing husbandry, care, and well-being for rhinoceroses and supporting their conservation in their native habitats.
