John and Imani: The Lions of the Cincinnati Zoo
John and Imani are two majestic African Lions who have become one of the most popular attractions at the Cincinnati Zoo. The two lions have been a part of the zoo since 2012, but it wasn’t until recently that they became more active members in the zookeeping staff’s daily routine.
John and Imani are well known for their playful behavior with each other and with zookeepers, especially during enrichment activities. Zookeepers often provide them with various objects to play with or problem-solve such as puzzle feeders, balls or large straw mats filled with goodies like meat cubes. Not only does this stimulate their minds, but it also helps to keep them happy and healthy!
What makes these lions even more special is their bond as a pair. They can be seen chasing each other around in circles or resting next to each other while taking in some sunshine – something that you don’t see very often among wild lions.
If you’re ever visiting the Cincinnati Zoo, make sure to stop by John and Imani’s exhibit! It’s an incredible experience that you won’t soon forget!
