One of my favorite species at the Reid Park Zoo is the Baird’s tapir! Tapirs have a prehensile snout, similar to an elephant trunk. As you can see in this video, one of our tapirs uses his snout to find and enjoy an apple. I love watching our animals use their enrichment tools throughout the day, and I hope to someday be a Zoo Keeper and provide these activities.
