A tall HAPPY 13TH BIRTHDAY to Sergeant Peppers (aka Sarge) who was born January 17, 2012 at the @okczoo. Sarge arrived at the Topeka Zoo in October of 2013, and became the father of two calves in the summer of 2018 (to two moms Hope & Abi). Hope & Sarge’s daughter, Liz, still calls the Topeka Zoo her home! Abi & Sarge’s son, Konza, was transferred in 2021 to Wildlife Safari, Oregon under the recommendations of the Giraffe Species Survival Plan committee.
