Temperate or mesothermal climates generally have warm-to-hot summers and cool-to-cold winters with moderate year-round precipitation. These climates include the Mediterranean (Csa, Csb), humid subtropical (Cfa, Cwa), oceanic (Cfb, Cwb, Cfc), and subtropical highland (Cfb, Cwb, Cfc) climates. Examples include the Mediterranean region, much of the southeastern United States, and large portions of Europe and Australia.
