The Hoofstock team comprises 10 Animal Care Specialists dedicated to ungulates of every shape and size, from the most diminutive duiker to the enormous giraffe (and several birds, too!). Caring for hoofed animals is complex and labor intensive, and this team always looks for ways to improve our animals’ lives. The Pachyderm Team at Denver Zoo comprises 15 Animal Care Specialists who specialize in caring for some of the largest animals on the planet. These experts care for Asian elephants in Toyota Elephant Passage, greater one-horned rhinos, Rocky Mountain big horn sheep, Malayan tapirs, Rocky Mountain goats, red river hogs, Nile hippos and Black rhinos! Rain, snow or shine, the Large Mammals team shows up daily, excited to provide the best care for these fantastic animals.
