Playing in Puddles
The first video shows Mahali wading through a shallow water pool created by the rain and splashing around. He can be seen shaking his head, and water sprays everywhere, making his hefty body look like a child’s playing in a puddle.
Although Mahali may look like a gentle giant, his size belies his strength and speed. In the wild, hippos are one of the deadliest creatures, responsible for more human deaths than any other large animal. However, in captivity, Mahali is content to spend his days lounging in the sun, eating grass, and playing in the rain.
