Overview

The Assiniboine Park Zoo, nestled in the heart of Winnipeg, Manitoba, is one of the oldest zoological parks in Canada. Established in 1904, the zoo spans approximately 80 acres within Assiniboine Park. It is home to nearly 1,500 animals, including polar bears, seals, tigers, and various species of birds, across nearly 200 species.

It operates the Leatherdale International Polar Bear Conservation Centre, which combines education, research, and conservation to preserve polar bears.
