Overview
Caldwell Zoo, located in the heart of East Texas in Tyler, is home to diverse wildlife worldwide. With a sprawling 85 acres, it houses over 3,400 animals representing 250 species, making it a place of delightful discovery for visitors of all ages.
Established in 1937 by David King Caldwell, the zoo started as a child's play park with a few exotic animals. It has since become a premier institution recognized for its conservation, education, and recreation efforts.
