Makutu’s got a brand-new jungle gym! This custom climbing structure features adjustable bars, giving this little chimp the perfect space to practice climbing, sitting, and hanging. These bars will help him build strength, coordination, and confidence as he prepares to be reunited with the chimp troop.
The team is also working with Makutu on his crawling behavior by giving him plenty of tummy time. This helps him learn to walk or crawl quadrupedally. Makutu also spends time near the chimp troop, observing their natural behaviors and getting used to being around them, while the troop gets to know him too.
