Working Hours:

Job Summary:
The Zoo Naturalist will inspire guests to take conservation action. This will be achieved by facilitating a wide range of programs (both on and offsite), engaging visitors in conversations, and handling ambassador animals.
Duties:
Some of the duties for the Zoo Naturalist include presenting programs, supporting and interacting with guests, and working with other stakeholders to maintain program quality. Additionally, the Zoo Naturalist will need to utilize bio-facts, animal exhibits, interpretives, and labels to engage guests and answer their questions.
Technology/Equipment/Tools:
The job will require the use and maintenance of outreach vehicles, golf carts, and electronic interpretives. The employee must also have a general understanding of computer programs and apps.
Physical Activity:
The position requires walking, standing, speaking, hearing, seeing, and interacting with guests of all ages. Driving both onsite and offsite may also be needed. The job will require lifting and carrying objects weighing up to 40 pounds.
Work Environment:
The work can be performed both indoors and outdoors in various facilities and weather conditions.
Qualifications:
Education requirements include obtaining a college degree in biology, zoology, environmental science, environmental studies, conservation/natural resources education or a related field (preferred). The applicant must be at least 18 years of age.
