The ABQ BioPark Zoo in Albuquerque, New Mexico has welcomed its first-ever penguin hatchling! This is a momentous occasion for the zoo and its guests, as this marks the first time a penguin chick has been born at the exhibit.
The lucky parents are Minnow and Jamison, two Macaroni Penguins who have previously had a chick together at Sea World. The new arrival was welcomed with much fanfare on November 22nd, 2020.
Since then, the little one has been doing well and growing strong. Zoo staff report that the chick is very happy and healthy, which is great news for everyone involved!
Visitors to the ABQ BioPark Zoo can now see this adorable new addition to the Penguin Chill exhibit. It’s sure to be an exciting experience for all who come to witness this special event in person.
