The veterinarians and technicians at the UF College of Veterinary Medicine – Zoological Medicine Service came to the zoo to anesthetize him so he could be safely transported to the vet school to get imaging. A CT revealed a fracture in his front left leg. The vets performed surgery, and Mac is now back at the zoo. His zookeepers and trainer continue to monitor his progress and provide him with medicine to aid in his comfort as he heals.
