Spectacular Eagle Rays At Aquarium Pacific

The Aquarium of the Pacific has one of the most impressive collections of eagle rays in the world. Eagle rays are a species of large cartilaginous fish that can be found in tropical, subtropical and temperate waters all over the world. These majestic creatures make a spectacular sight when they swim through the aquarium’s tanks with their graceful movements!

Eagle rays are unique not only because of their beautiful appearance but also because they have some truly incredible traits. For instance, they use their wingspan to search for food on the seafloor and then shoot themselves up into the water above to catch their prey – a technique called “gliding”. They also have flattened snouts which help them to dig in sandy areas for food.

At Aquarium Pacific, you can get close enough to marvel at these incredible creatures. We have several species available including spotted eagle ray, cownose ray and manta ray. Not only can you enjoy watching them gliding around our exhibit but you can also learn more about these magnificent animals during one of our educational talks or animal encounters.

Next time you visit Aquarium Pacific, make sure you take some time out to admire these remarkable rays!
