Introducing Shasta VII and Louie: Our Growing Cougar Cubs
Today marks an exciting day at the zoo as we introduce two new cougar cubs to the public! Shasta VII and Louie are male cougar cubs making their public debut across from the black bear exhibit. We are thrilled to have them join us and can’t wait to watch them grow!
Exploring the Cougar Habitat
Shasta VII and Louie are both young and must stay in their habitat until they are big enough to move into the main cougar habitat. This allows visitors to get to know the cubs and watch them explore their new homes. They love to climb, play, and explore their surroundings, so seeing them in action is a great opportunity.
How to Tell Them Apart
Shasta VII and Louie may look alike, but subtle differences can help you tell them apart. Shasta VII has a more golden coat with a white patch on his chest, while Louie has darker skin with a white patch on his neck. Louie also has a distinctive black spot above his left eye.
Growing Up Together
The two cubs are very close and enjoy spending time together. They love to play and explore their habitat and are always curious about the world around them. We look forward to watching them grow and explore together as they age.
Visit Shasta VII and Louie Today!
We are excited to welcome Shasta VII and Louie to the zoo and invite you to come and meet them today! Please stop by and say hello to our newest cougar cubs! They are across from the black bear exhibit and can’t wait to meet you.
