Overview

The Chattanooga Zoo, located in Chattanooga, Tennessee, is a delightful and intimate 13-acre facility that's been welcoming visitors to explore the wonders of wildlife since 1937. The zoo is home to over 500 animals representing 200 species, many of which are part of critical Species Survival Plans. The zoo aims to engage and inspire visitors to better understand and preserve wildlife by creating meaningful connections between people and animals.

Visitors to the Chattanooga Zoo can explore a variety of exhibits, including the Gombe Forest, which is home to chimpanzees; the Himalayan Passage, which houses red pandas and snow leopards; and the Desert and Forest exhibits, which offer a glimpse into the lives of animals from these habitats. The zoo also provides interactive experiences, such as camel rides, giraffe feedings, and educational programs to enhance the visitor experience.

The Chattanooga Zoo is deeply committed to wildlife conservation, participating in over 30 of the Association of Zoos and Aquariums' Species Survival Plans. The zoo also works with other organizations on field conservation efforts and runs various educational programs to foster conservation awareness and responsible actions among its visitors.
