Zoo Atlanta‘s Ambassador Animals program is celebrating the successes of its positive reinforcement training program with its red-tailed hawk, Rose. After arriving at the zoo with a permanent eye injury, the team had to slowly build trust with Rose. The team slowly got her comfortable taking treats, being on the glove, and eventually being attached to a leash for outdoor walks. Rose is now doing Animal Encounters and becoming a great ambassador for her species. Visitors can see her on Mondays and Tuesdays at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. and Wednesdays through Sundays at 11 a.m. and 3 p.m.
