The Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden’s Zoo Access for All program encourages people from all backgrounds to visit the zoo and build bonds with wildlife. Educators from the zoo have been hosting Zoo Troop for All, an evening program for children with developmental disabilities, for 12 weeks this school year. The program includes animal encounters, hiking, storytelling, dancing, games, and more. The program is made possible by Cincinnati Children’s Hospital support and the Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental and Related Disabilities program. The participants’ families highly appreciate Zoo Troop for All, and Cincinnati Children’s Chief of Staff has also volunteered for the program. The zoo intends to conduct the program again this fall.
