Overview
Located in St. Augustine, Florida, the St. Augustine Alligator Farm Zoological Park is one of Florida's oldest continuously running attractions, established in 1893. While it began primarily as an alligator exhibit, the park has since expanded to include a variety of reptiles, birds, and other animals. It's the only facility in the world where visitors can see every living species of crocodilian.
Guests visiting the park can expect an up-close experience with an impressive collection of alligators, crocodiles, caimans, and the rare gharial. The facility offers several shows and interactive experiences, including alligator feedings and wildlife presentations. The zoo's boardwalk allows visitors to safely observe the alligators in a natural setting. Additionally, for the more adventurous visitors, the park offers "Crocodile Crossing," a zip line over the park's main grounds.
The St. Augustine Alligator Farm plays a significant role in crocodilian conservation. Their breeding programs, research initiatives, and educational outreach all contribute to the understanding and preservation of these ancient reptiles. They actively participate in efforts to conserve threatened and endangered species, including various species of crocodilians and birds.
