Overview

Located in Gainesville, Florida, Santa Fe Zoo is a unique 10-acre teaching zoo associated with Santa Fe College. It's home to over 200 animals representing more than 70 species. The zoo serves as a living classroom for students enrolled in the college's Zoo Animal Technology Program, providing hands-on experience in animal care, exhibit maintenance, and guest interaction. It's accredited by the Association of Zoos & Aquariums (AZA).

Visitors to Santa Fe Zoo are treated to a diverse collection of animals and well-designed exhibits that promote natural behavior. The experience is enriched by the interaction with students working at the zoo, who are often available to answer questions and provide insights into the animals. The zoo hosts regular events, programs, and camps for children and adults to further engage the community and educate about wildlife.
