Overview

The Seas with Nemo & Friends is an attraction located in the Future World section of Epcot at Walt Disney World Resort. Originally opened as The Living Seas in 1986, it was rethemed in 2006 to incorporate characters from the Disney-Pixar film "Finding Nemo." While the attraction entertains its Nemo-themed elements, it also seeks to educate visitors about the beauty and fragility of the world's oceans.

Visitors begin their journey aboard "clamobiles" in a dark ride, joining characters from "Finding Nemo" to find the titular character. Post-ride, guests can explore The SeaBase, a large, multi-level observation area filled with marine life. The main tank is an impressive 5.7 million-gallon saltwater tank that houses various sea creatures, from rays and sea turtles to various fish, offering guests a deep dive into marine biodiversity.

Disney, through its attractions like The Seas, aims to raise awareness about the importance of marine conservation. By integrating entertainment with education, they encourage visitors to develop a respect and appreciation for marine life. The Seas also provide an environment for rescued marine animals who cannot return to the wild. The Cast Members (Disney's term for employees) at the facility are often available to answer questions, ensuring guests leave with a better understanding of marine ecosystems.
